ABOUT

About Dawn

Born and raised on a tobacco farm in Maryland, I moved to Massachusetts in 1980 and seven years later graduated from the New England Baptist School of Nursing.

Since obtaining my degree, I’ve worked as an RN in a variety of settings - hospitals, doctors’ offices, and in the community as a visiting nurse. Throughout the years I’ve seen a broad spectrum of chronic health issues, including an increase of allergies – some debilitating and even life-threatening, obesity, diabetes, a variety of autoimmune disorders, and overall stress and fatigue. Not a pretty picture.

It wasn’t until I started experiencing my own health issues that I began looking into alternative methods of healing, my first stop, diet. I found that by eating less meat, dairy, and sugars and concentrating instead on a more plant-based diet, I felt infinitely better.

Add to that my discovery of quality supplements.

Twelve years ago I found a thoroughly-researched, whole-food variety which my family still uses today. Because the company’s mission of inspiring healthy living is similar to my own, I partnered with them and can honestly say that I understand more now about health and nutrition than ever.

Though little by little they’re beginning to change, the tendency of medical teaching institutions was to focus on treating pathologies and to ignore prevention. And what wasn’t taught, couldn’t be practiced. That’s where I was at.

Now, however, I understand that we don’t have to settle for the diseases our parents experienced. Once I understood the control I could have over my own health, I started making small adjustments, and over the years my entire family has benefited.

As a wife, nurse, mother of three grown children, and now “Mimi” of two, I believe it’s my obligation to share everything I know to help as many as I can. I’m passionate about educating people on the importance of prevention and the huge role nutrition plays in our health, “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure,” my mantra.

In the United States this is hardly the case. Currently ours is more of a sickcare rather than healthcare system. I’m on a mission to reverse that by educating people on the aspects of life over which we DO HAVE control. It’s never too early or too late to take baby steps toward promoting changes to support a healthy journey which will last a lifetime.

Because I've made these changes, you can too.

The “virtual franchise” I started ten years ago as a Juice Plus+ partner has gotten me out of my comfort zone in many ways. I’ve learned a lot about how to run my own home-based business, to network, and to even do public speaking. In the process I’ve studied an immense amount about proper nutrition and its relationship to good health and have committed myself to helping people put their health and wellness-related goals into action.

I couldn’t have done this alone.

The resources available through Juice Plus+, the lessons learned from my trusted network of associated businesses and the many wonderful relationships I’ve developed over these years, have all contributed to this story.

I’m doing this … you can too!

What My Clients Say

As an aspiring collegiate athlete, I was totally committed to improving my performance in order to play at the level I always dreamed. However, this commitment didn't leave much room to pursue any of my other passions or interests. After college graduation, I wanted a career that would allow me both time and financial freedom so I could chase my next dream and that's why the Juice Plus+ Virtual Franchise is a perfect fit for me. Since getting my virtual franchise rolling I have fostered amazing friendships, become a strong business woman, am continually educating myself about health in a powerful way, and still have time to volunteer for organizations I'm extremely passionate about. When I explain to people what this business can do for them, the best thing I can say is that it can provide options, and options mean freedom!

One thing we love about growing our own produce is how much we've learned about what so many herbs and greens do for us! I love Tusli (holy) Basil tea now through the winter, for it's cold and flu preventing properties . Cilantro has so many benefits, such as toxic metal cleansing, and we make our own salsas! I never would have made my own pesto, and didn't realize parsley tastes so amazing and is good for teeth and gums, immunity, eyesight, and more! Trying new things has been fun, even mini pumpkins at my youngest's request! And salads are now cool to my kids! We grow in our basement playroom during the winter months, and have two for outside all summer. Such an incredible gift! The Tower community provides so many ideas and support any time we have questions.

It has been such a pleasure to be on Dawn's Juice Plus+ team. She is smart, kind, funny, dedicated. I know that I am in good hands when working with Dawn. She know the products and business inside and out, and I always have fun working with her. I decided to join Juice Plus+ because the products made so much sense, and it was something I could do to earn an income on my own timeline. One of the things I appreciate most about Dawn is that she has always met me wherever I am on that timeline and has never pressured me to go faster than I can handle. She's a great role model. I'm so grateful to be on her team. I'm sure you will be too!
